The program, in plain terms

What is the Medicare GLP-1 Bridge Program?

In 2026, Medicare created a new program to make GLP-1 weight-loss medications affordable for its members. It’s called the Medicare GLP-1 Bridge.

Who qualifies

Two requirements — both checked for youset by Medicare, confirmed at your visit

01Your coverage

Medicare drug coverage

A Part D plan — or a Medicare Advantage plan that includes drug coverage.

Either form counts. A Medicare supplement — Medigap — is not drug coverage on its own.

02Your health

Health criteria your provider confirms

In general: a BMI of 35 or higher — or lower, with certain health conditions.

These are medical requirements set by the program. You don’t need to work them out yourself — your provider confirms them at your visit.

Three medications. One price.
